Dear colleagues!

The Linguistics and Translation Faculty of Chelyabinsk State University is glad to host the 4th International Scientific Conference: Word, Utterance and Text: Cognitive, Pragmatic and Cultural Aspects. The conference will be held on April 25-26, 2008.

The conference will focus on the following theoretical and practical issues:

1. Cognitive science: a new paradigm of 21st century

2. Linguistic world-image and cultural interaction

3. Discourse as the object of interdisciplinary research

4. Semantics and pragmatics of the text and of language units

5. Topical issues in translation and interpreting

Official languages of the conference are Russian, English, French, German, and Italian.

Specialists in different fields of knowledge are invited to take part in the conference. Please, inquire for more information and send your questions to: slovo@csu.ru.

Please, be informed that Chelyabinsk State University completely covers the costs for publication of your materials and, partly, costs for accommodation and transportation, should you decide to take part in conference discussion.

February 10, 2008 is the deadline for sending materials and contributions. Contributions constitute 400 roubles and 200 roubles for the members of Russian Association of Cogntive Linguists.

Your report should be less than five pages and should be Word-processed (Times New Roman, font -14, spacing -1.5, margin - 2cm, indentation – 1.2 cm).

Editorial Committee shall be entitled to select materials for publishing in the Conference Digest. The Digest will be published by the beginning of the Conference
